NFL Mock Draft 2022: Breece Hall’s draft projections
Heading into 2021, many considered Hall to be the RB1. As it sits right now, he’s considered RB2 on Pro Football Network’s Big Board. At Iowa State, he rushed for nearly 4,000 yards and 50 touchdowns (a school record) and was the most consistent player on the Cyclones’ offense.
The verdict remains uncertain surrounding Hall’s game. While’s he’s not overly creative in the trenches to create space, he doesn’t waste time finding the opening and taking it to the house. His 4.39 40-yard dash and 40-inch vertical jump at the NFL Combine confirmed what we saw on film and actually improved his draft stock a little.
NFL Mock Draft 2022: PFN’s top consensus landing spots
In his latest 7-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft, PFN Draft Analyst Ian Cummings had Hall landing in Arizona. “He’s more of a finesse back than a forceful back at his size,” said Cummings. “If he can play up to his frame more, he can be a dynamic starter in Arizona’s diverse run scheme.”
PFN Draft Director Cam Mellor’s last 7-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft before the Combine had Hall going 50th to the Miami Dolphins. PFN Draft Analyst Oliver Hodgkinson agreed with Mellor in his 3-Round Mock Draft as well.

Hall sits at 35th on Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network’s top 50 prospects list, one spot ahead of Texas A&M’s Isaiah Spiller. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. lists Hall as his top RB prospect in the 2022 class. His colleague, Todd McShay, says Hall is a top-two running back. “It’s kind of a competition, in my mind, between Kenneth Walker from Michigan State,” said McShay.
One consistent remark about Hall’s game: he’s smooth. He’s a natural runner who doesn’t overthink anything. Hall is patient to see the holes and has the flexibility to adjust to any opening that presents itself to him.
