NFL Week 6 was another painful one for quarterbacks. The Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott and the Cleveland Browns’ Baker Mayfield are both dealing with troublesome injuries, as are Browns running back Kareem Hunt, Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney, Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson, and others. Let’s take a look at all the updates in the latest NFL injury report from Week 6.

NFL injury report | Week 6
These are just a few of the players who either left Sunday’s games and did not return, or are expected back this week after a prolonged absence.
Baker Mayfield, QB, and Kareem Hunt, RB, Cleveland Browns
A once-promising season is unraveling quickly. Mayfield has been fighting through a torn labrum in his left shoulder since Week 2 and aggravated that injury Sunday on a sack by J.J. Watt. He told reporters that he separated the shoulder on the fall and it “feels like s—,” but expects to play Thursday against the Broncos.
Even if he can play, how effective will Mayfield be? The injury has had a serious impact on his performance. Mayfield’s on-target rate (63.3%) is at an all-time low and his bad throw rate (19.3%) is at an all-time high.
The news is even worse at running back. Nick Chubb sat out the Cardinals game with a calf injury while Hunt was carted off with a calf injury of his own. He was quickly ruled out of the game. No further information was immediately available.
Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
Prescott threw 51 passes in an otherworldly Week 6 performance against the Patriots. The last one he threw — a walk-off touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb — came with a price. He injured his right calf on the throw and left Gillette Stadium in a walking boot. He will undergo an MRI Monday to determine the severity.
“It was a little pain, but, no, for sure, I would’ve been able to keep going,” Prescott told reporters. “I think the adrenaline would’ve been up and probably maybe not even felt it at that time. But I think after the time you relax and it’s like, ‘Oh, well, there it is.’”
Prescott will benefit from some rest. The Cowboys are on their bye this week before visiting the Vikings on Halloween.
Kadarius Toney, WR, New York Giants
If Toney could ever get right physically, he’d give Ja’Marr Chase a run for Offensive Rookie of the Year. He just can’t get right. He’s logged just 162 of a possible 406 offensive snaps this season, with his latest absence due to an ankle injury he aggravated against the Los Angeles Rams Sunday.
The injury basically left the Giants without their entire offense. Running back Saquon Barkley and wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton were all inactive. Toney leads the Giants with 317 receiving yards on just 23 targets.
Week 6 NFL Injury Report
Let’s take a look at a few more players with health question marks.
The shin injury that landed Gibson on the injury report in Week 6 ultimately knocked him out of the game after 10 carries. Gibson aggravated the issue in Washington’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
“We’ll see how he is,” WFT coach Ron Rivera said after the game. “We did take him out at the end of the game because he was struggling with it a little, so we have to be careful and see how he responds. I don’t know much more than that. We’ll see how he is [Monday] morning.”
Lane Johnson, OT, Philadelphia Eagles
The three-time Pro Bowl right tackle announced on Twitter Monday that he is returning to the team after missing the past three games with what the team described as a personal matter. In his statement, Lane Johnson revealed what that personal matter was.
“I would like to thank everyone for their understanding and support over the last two weeks,” Johnson wrote. “I appreciate the positive notes and messages as I’ve worked hard to restore my personal life. Depression and anxiety are things I’ve dealt with for a long time and have kept hidden from my friends and family. If you’re reading this and struggling, please know that you are not alone. I am excited to re-join my teammates and coaches. I’m grateful for the entire Eagles community and look forward to continuing to play in front of the best fans in the world!”
Johnson’s return will presumably move Jordan Mailata back to left tackle. Mailata has been excellent in a new position while Johnson took time to get right.
